Get answers to common questions about Lip Wax.
A Lip Wax appointment at ZOVA usually takes 10–15 minutes from consultation to aftercare. We prioritize comfort and precision, so timing may vary slightly depending on hair density and sensitivity. Results are immediate and skin is left smooth.
No, waxing does not change hair color or thickness. It removes hair from the root, which may make regrowth appear finer over time. Repeated waxing often results in softer, sparser regrowth compared with shaving or hair removal creams.
Some clients feel a quick sting during removal, but the procedure is brief. We apply numbing creams upon request and use expert technique to minimize pain. Avoid caffeine and schedule treatments outside your menstrual cycle for reduced sensitivity.
For effective waxing, hair should be about 1/4 inch (approximately 6 mm) long. This length allows the wax to grip hair for clean removal. If hair is too short, we may ask you to wait until it grows to the ideal length.
Avoid heat, heavy makeup, exfoliation, and sun exposure for 24–48 hours. Apply soothing aloe or our recommended calming gel if needed. Keep the area clean and refrain from touching to prevent irritation or infection.
Yes, we accommodate sensitive and acne-prone skin with gentle waxes and tailored techniques. A patch test is available to check reaction. If you have active cystic acne or open lesions, we may advise postponing until the skin has healed.
